What Is Home Education Compared to Public School Education?

What Is Home Education?

What is home education when you stack it up next to the glowing achievements of public school education? We would say it is a slam dunk or maybe a home run compared to a double play. What Is Home Education

An objective comparison is almost laughable. Our comparison between home education and the public schools will cover academics, safety issues, social behaviors, college performance, and morals?

First of all, we have been homeschooling parents for over 15 years. Neither of us were homeschooled as youngsters, but have found the benefits of homeschooling to be off the charts.

We also worked in a public school setting for 8 years and have personal experience from both sides of the coin.

What Is Home Education-  Academics and Safety

What is home education when it comes to academics? The public school education system relies tremendously on standardized testing to evaluate academic progress.

Homeschooled students have consistently scored over 30% points higher on the standardized tests.

Because we were part of the system, we know that the entire public school system now “teaches to” the standardized tests. They have no choice. Almost all of their performance indicators are geared to the students’ performance on these tests.

What happens when we look at college performance? While the numbers aren’t as impressive in the primary and secondary schools, homeschoolers attending colleges have better average GPA’s by .30 points and have a better graduation rate by 9%.

What is home education when it comes to safety and crime? What we are about to say is shocking and it comes from a 2011 US Dept. of Education report covering the 2009/2010 school year.

Over 1.8 million incidents of violence occurred in the public schools in America for this school period. They included incidents of rape, sexual battery, assault, robbery, simple theft, weapon and drug possession, and vandalism.

And here is the real kick in the gut. Most of these violent incidents occurred in the primary schools as compared to the middle and high schools. Outrageous!

When it comes to safety in the home schooling environment, the most heinous crimes range from grand theft cookie to possession of a Star Wars light saber.

What Is Home Education-Social Skills and Morals

What is home education when it comes to social skills and morals? The classic argument that the general public have against home education is the lack of socialization.

Studies have conclusively shown that the homeschooled students have better manners, show better communication skills, and are more mature and responsible.

While all these characteristics are subjective in nature, we think that the average person would rather their children not receive social skills training from an environment full of bullying, sexualized peer pressure, and materialism.

What is home education when it comes to morals? The public schools have no morals other than the “quippy” school mottoes and standards of excellence plaques on their walls.

While public schools preach a standard of respect, honesty, and integrity, they have divorced themselves from the only source of true morals – Jesus Christ.

No wonder surveys from school students indicate such a high rate of cheating which is close to 80%.

What is homeschooling? It is a big answer to the ills of today’s society. The parent’s role as educators of their children is an honor and a duty that most parents have sadly thrown under the bus.

Do You Want To Be A Part of God’s Transfer Of Wealth?

God’s Transfer of Wealth

There is a transfer of wealth that has begun. Do you want to part of God’s plan to release the resources that have been held up for those who walk in covenant with His Son, Jesus Christ? Transfer of Wealth

I know there are many Christians that believe the world’s wealth has nothing to do with the Body of Christ.

Wealth is not evil. Serving and loving riches is where you get into big trouble.

We are warned not to pursue wealth above God. We are, however, to expect the Lord’s blessings to come after us and to expect a harvest when we sow into the Kingdom of God.

Transfer of Wealth For Christians?

If wealth is not for the people of God, why does Scripture talk so much about seeds being multiplied, about abundant provision, about a huge increase of houses and lands and family relationships coming to us now in this age?

Being materially wealthy or rich is just one aspect of our Father’s great blessings. In fact, it is the lowest level, but it is still important to Him. Why did Jesus say the Gospel was to be preached to the poor?

He said that because they needed to know they didn’t have to stay that way. The same was true for the blind, for the brokenhearted, and for those who were held captive.

In 2 Corinthians 8, Paul also talks about Jesus taking our poverty from us so that we might become rich. The context of this chapter is not spiritual, but material riches.

The wealth of this world belongs to God. The problem is the Church has not bothered to be a part of the transfer of wealth so that God’s riches can get back into the right hands. The wealth of the wicked or ungodly is being stored up for us!

Wealth is simply a tool to be used for good or for bad. Those with wealth are able to influence the circumstances around them. The Body of Christ is also supposed to be operating in places of influence and leadership.

God’s transfer of wealth is NOT Obama economics. It is not the socialistic distribution of wealth. It is not Robin Hood taking care of the poor.

If you are a Christian, stop being afraid of wealth. God’s needs His children to step up and become the Godly stewards of His wealth. We will be judged on how well we steward all of God’s kingdom blessings.

God even said that He takes delight in the prosperity of His people. How would you feel if your children end up begging and barely scraping by? You would most likely feel like a failure. God and prosperity are one and the same.

Transfer of Wealth Steps

How can you be God’s steward in this transfer of wealth? You first must be adopted into His family by faith in Jesus Christ. After that, there are 4 steps to follow.

1) Sow or give where God says to give,
2) Bind the strongman over your inheritance (exercise your authority),
3) Exercise your faith in your harvest, and
4) Activate the blessing of Abraham.

You Were Masterfully Destined For Greatness To Impact Your World

Did you know that you were masterfully destined for greatness? Yes, this is completely true! Your presence here is not an accident.

You were not formed by a random collision of atoms that resulted in your creation. You were not derived from a simple life form that the Theory of Evolution proposes. You were very deliberately created by the Maker of the universe.

Listen to these words written in Psalm 139:13, “You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb.” In fact, you were created to be like God! Have you ever thought of yourself as being God-like?

You are destined for greatness. That greatness can only truly be realized through salvation in Jesus Christ because we became a “new creation”, no longer held bound by the chains of our selfish nature or the schemes of our enemy. 2Cor 5:17

Equipped and Destined For Greatness

The amazing thing is your Architect provided everything you will need to fulfill your destiny, including dealing with those who are against your destiny. Just read in Deuteronomy 28:7 “The LORD will cause your enemies who rise against you to be defeated before you. They shall come out against you one way and flee before you seven ways.”

Jesus transferred this authority to His disciples when He gave them the ability to deal with “all the power of the enemy…” Luke 10:19. I don’t think He left anything out! God supplied everything to bring you into your place of greatness.

As you ponder this amazing truth, please keep in mind the following critical point. You are the only one who can keep yourself from fulfilling your designated end! To enter into this place of greatness, you have one thing to do. It is your commission, and it is absolutely required.

Destined For Greatness Key

You must exercise your faith in the truth that all things are possible with God. You must trust this amazing One who loved you enough to make you perfect by sacrificing His Only Begotten Son. Through Him you can accomplish great things.

You are the only living soul that can change the fact that you were destined for greatness in Christ. Nothing that has happened to you in the past can stop you. Nothing that anyone did to you or will do to you, can get in your way. No one can destroy the great things you were designed for.

The requirement is pretty simple. The problem is we usually end up making things as complicated as possible. It is God’s way, however, to make everything so simple for us.

He tells us in Hebrews 11:6 “But without faith it is impossible to please him; for he that comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.”

Is it really difficult to have faith in someone who has done so very much for us already?By faith, know that you were destined for greatness by God. Enter into your place of greatness by faith. Fulfill your destiny and do what you were designed to do.

You are extremely important to the rest of us. As we each do our part, what a beautiful and majestic tapestry will be created. Don’t believe the lies that get thrown at you and remember that you are a new creation in Christ.

The Scripture On Patience Working With Faith To Inherit The Promises

The Scripture On Patience and Faith

There is a Scripture on patience that contains a very powerful secret to enable you to receive your Godly inheritance. Find out how Godly patience will act as a multiplying agent when it is combined with faith. Scripture On Patience

We rarely put faith and patience together in our minds. The Scripture on patience in Hebrews 6:12, however, tells us these two Biblical heavyweights will open the doors to our inheritance from God.

The problem is that patience nowadays is a rare commodity. We want what we want and it better be right now.

This kind of attitude works against our faith because it gets tough to believe that God is moving on our behalf when we don’t see anything changing with our physical eyes.

Scripture On Patience Lessons

Learning how to have patience can be a big help and we can look at some Scriptures on patience to point us in the right direction. There is a patience Scripture in James that tells us how to produce more patience in our lives.

It says that patience comes from our faith being tested. The Bible also tells us to do all things by faith. Really? Where does it say that?

Romans 14 tells us “what is not from faith is sin”. We can conclude that the right path is to do all things in faith.

In order to test your faith, start doing little things by faith, expecting God to show up. You can eat by faith expecting health and energy.

You can sleep by faith expecting to feel refreshed in the morning or by expecting encouraging dreams. You can study for a test by faith expecting God to bless the work of your hands and keep you free from worry.

It is sad that so many Christians give up on walking by faith so quickly and they don’t experience the blessing. It is because they have little to no patience.

Another Scripture on patience in Romans 15 says that our Heavenly Father is a God of patience. That is not only part of His nature but He is also a resource from whom we can draw patience from.

One things is for sure – patience will not come by accident.  Let us give you a couple of examples.

Scripture On Patience Examples

We have a large family and had been living in a 4 bedroom home for several years. We prayed and thanked the Lord for a bigger house. Several possibilities came along but none of them worked out. We stayed in patience and faith expecting God to do something.

Three tears went by and suddenly, we got a call in the morning from a real estate agent friend who knew of a three-year old home with 6 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.

I got an appointment to view the house that same day and gave them a deposit to hold the house for us. That’s where we are living now.

Also, we have been foster parents for many years now and had a sibling group of 2 placed in our home for a pre-adoption visit almost 6 years ago. Everything went great but the state decided we already had too many children and didn’t place them with us.

Recently, we received a call about placing a teenage girl in our home. We had thought maybe our days of fostering were finished but could not say no in this situation. The agency placed her with us and we soon realized it was the girl we had in our home 6 years ago.

It is amazing how God will work in our lives when use faith and patience.

What Are The Seven Spirits of God and How Do They Spell Victory?

What Are The Seven Spirits of God?

What are the seven Spirits of God? They are definitely not the latest new age explanation for the origin of God. The seven Spirits that we will be talking about are found in the Bible. What Are The Seven Spirits of God

There is a very important reason that we should become familiar with what are the seven Spirits of God. The ministry or work of God’s Spirit in our lives is our guarantee to victory in every situation. Yes, you heard me – a guarantee.

Of course, this guarantee is based on our hearing correctly what God’s Spirit is saying and then being obedient to what He has instructed.

Before we tell you what are the seven spirits of God, it is crucial that you know that the only access to the seven Spirits of God is through Jesus Christ.

Our spirits are made alive once we gain salvation through faith in Jesus. It is then that the 7 spirits of God come to dwell in us.

What Are The Seven Spirits of God?

What are the seven Spirits of God? Isaiah 11:2 identifies Them as the Spirit of the Lord, the Spirits of Wisdom and Understanding, the Spirits of Counsel and Might, and the Spirits of Knowledge and the Fear of the Lord.

To a certain degree, they are self explanatory, with the first being the person of the Holy Spirit or Holy Ghost. The Hebrew language does give us additional insight into who or what are the seven Spirits of God.

By looking at the Hebrew language, we can gain a better understanding. Wisdom also includes creativity. Understanding also includes useful information and how to use it.

Counsel also includes getting direction. Might also includes strength and ability. Knowledge also includes intimacy or closeness. And Fear also includes awe and reverence and worship.

As you can see, these are all very valuable anointing to possess.

In the Book of Zechariah, we see mention of a lampstand with 7 lamps. Zechariah is told that these are the Spirit of God and that we are not to rely on our own power but live by the Spirit of God.

We believe that we are entering into the time whereby victory will only be possible through God’s Spirit.

This same 7-branch lampstand is also described in the Book of Exodus as a fixture called the menorah and placed in the Tabernacle of the Lord.

The last major reference to what are the seven Spirits of God is found in the fourth Chapter of Revelations.

Victory and What Are The Seven Spirits of God

Now that you know what are the seven Spirits of God, how do They spell victory in our lives? Just think for a minute of all of the challenges you face on a regular basis.

Now picture that God’s Spirit is at your side drawing you close to Himself, instructing you, and empowering you to overcome any obstacle or attack.

He is also revealing to you creative strategies for your business and family relationships, including your marriage.

You don’t have to just imagine this anymore. The seven Spirits of God are available to bring you to victory. That is what every child of God is destined for.

What are you waiting for? Simply call upon the ministry of the Spirits of God by name in faith and watch the battles turn in your favor.

Does Scripture About Judging Tell Us Not To Correct Others?

Filed under: Charleen's Kitchen of Life — admin @ 5:57 pm

Scripture About Judging Confusion

When we look at Scripture about judging, it is vital that we don’t get confused between judging and correcting our brothers or sisters. There is a big difference between the Scriptures on judging and the Scriptures about correction. Scripture About Judging

I think this has been a huge area that the Body of Christ has gotten confused about. The following Scripture on judging,”Judge not lest you be judged”, refers to being careful not to condemn a person for a particular behavior or their motivation.

It does not mean that we don’t have a duty to correct in love when we see someone acting in an unloving way. Do we have the responsibility of correcting others?

I would like to suggest that I would be doing my brother or sister a favor by offering a correction. Is the following a Scripture about judging?

Galatians 6:1 says, “Brothers, if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness. Keep watch on yourself, lest you too be tempted.” Judging or correcting?

I love the advice given in this scripture, “in a spirit of gentleness”. Let’s remember this important key.

Correcting others can be a very tricky thing. It is, however, a very important skill to be learned and a necessary tool for the Body of Christ. I believe this is just about the single most epic failure of the church.

This touchy-feely, can’t-hurt-anyone’s-feelings attitude in the church is corrupting us all.  If the church can’t correct, who can? We need someone to help us see things we aren’t seeing!

I realize, receiving correction can be a bit hard at times.  We all think we are right 99% of the time. The truth is we are so in need of loving correction. Can we learn to accept correction?  Can we learn to correct in love?

Is the following Scripture about judging or correcting? 2 Timothy 4:2 says, “Preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching.”

Again, we find this charge to correct, but as in the earlier scripture, we are admonished to do it in patience, which is a requirement of love.

As a parent of 13 children, my children talk about their amazement at my level of patience. I feel I have failed in this area repeatedly.

I am thankful, though, when the Lord, my husband, or even one of my children let me know when I have failed to correct with kindness or patience.

Proverbs 31:26 says,”When she speaks, her words are wise, and she gives instructions with kindness”. This is my prayer.  I believe we can learn to correct this way.

Correcting someone is really loving them. When we do correct, let’s keep the attitude which we see in 2 Thessalonians 3:15 – “Do not regard him as an enemy, but warn him as a brother.” A scripture about judging others?

Warning produces the fear of God, which is the beginning of wisdom. Warning can keep someone from hell, death, disease, or living a sinful life.

This next one looks like a Scripture about judging at first. In 1 Timothy 5:20 we’re told, “As for those who persist in sin, rebuke them in the presence of all, so that the rest may stand in fear.”

This is for the Believer who is resisting correction given in private. Talk about being “congregationally” incorrect.

We must stand up for beliefs that we know are against the Word of God. As the Body of Christ, it is our responsibility to speak up and bring correction when needed.

What would this world be like if Yeshua, Jesus Christ would not have said all that was needed at His appointed time? Let’s change our thinking about giving and receiving correction.

First, ask the Lord for His wisdom, and ask Him to correct you! Proverbs 15:22 says, “If you reject discipline, you only harm yourself; but if you listen to correction, you grow in understanding.”

Secondly, find someone in your life who is bold enough to correct you, not candy coat everything you do. Give them license to speak into your life. Receive their correction.

Thirdly, be bold enough to correct others in love.  I need it, you need it, and we all need it. Don’t let fear of hurting someone’s pride keep them ignorant of sin.

In closing, please pray for all of us in the Body to take up the responsibility of correcting one another.

Charleen
