Our Lord Heals

Filed under: Charleen's Kitchen of Life — admin @ 5:38 pm

I can remember when I first began learning in greater detail about Yahweh Rapha, and the stripes Christ bore for my healing. It was an amazing process, and I love how the Lord orchestrates our times of awakening when we are willing to hear.

My sister-in-law had given my husband and I a book by Charles Capps. He talked about how we are already healed, and how we needed to stand against the power of the devil. This book seemed to expect me to appropriate the blood of Christ over myself, my loved ones to see them healed.

At first, I was terrified to read the book.  The very idea that it could be my fault if I get a cold seemed completely silly.  So, I did what I ususally do. By the Lord’s grace, I prayed for truth, and I prayed for my sister-in-law that her eyes would be opened. As an afterthought, I asked the Lord to show me if I was wrong.

It didn’t take very long before, everything in His Word was crying out that I was already healed, and that my thinking needed a major shift. I am so very thankful for the Lord giving us eyes to see what we need to see!

Scriptures began to pour into my husband and I, as we discovered what His Word tuly says about this subject. He began to flood us with the truth. Here are some samples:

Exodus 15:26 And He said, “If you will give earnest heed to the voice of the LORD your God, and do what is right in His sight, and give ear to His commandments, and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have put on the Egyptians; for I, the LORD, am your healer.”

Exodus 23:25  “But you shall serve the LORD your God, and He will bless your bread and your water; and I will remove sickness from your midst.

Psalm 41:3 The LORD sustains them on their sickbed and RESTORES them from their bed of illness.

Isaiah 53:5 But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are HEALED!

Matthew 8:8 The centurion replied, “Lord, I do not deserve to have you come under my roof. But just say the word, and my servant will be HEALED.”

Matthew 9:35 Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom and healing EVERY disease and sickness.

Mark 5:34 He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has HEALED you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering.”

Luke 8:50 Hearing this, Jesus said to Jairus, “Don’t be afraid; just believe, and she will be HEALED.”

I was beginning to wonder if I had any faith at all. How had I missed the fact that I already was healed by my Savior’s stripes. Didn’t He say, “It is finished!”

On and on this went, as the Lord spoke clearly regarding our healing purchased by Jesus’ stripes.

Duh: It never occurred to me that the enemy would have a strategy against me gaining this wisdom.

One Sunday, my husband and I were planning to lead some children in the salvation prayer. That particular morning, I got a terrible nose bleed which put me in the kitchen dealing with my nose bleed.

Of course everyone huddled around me telling me how unusual it what for me to get a nose bleed out of the blue, and how I needed to get it checked.  Funny, I fell for it, in some ways, but Ha Ha! the Lord  used this foolish ploy of the enemy’s to teach me further.

During this training period, I realized my flesh would go along with the game of the enemy unless I took authority over it.  I would have to tell my nose to stop bleeding which seemed very strange behavior, except for the fact that this was how Jesus would sometimes handle healing.

Notice this account in Luke 4:38-41. Jesus left the synagogue and went to the home of Simon Peter. Simon’s mother-in-law was sick with a high fever, and they asked Jesus ·to help her. He came to her side and ·commanded the fever to leave. It left her, and immediately she got up and began serving them. Pretty illuminating!

Next time the enemy tries to put an illness on you, meditate on His promises, and  bring your faith up to a new level. Realize the authority He has given you, and appropriate your healing by rebuking the work of the enemy! Remember what Jesus told Jairus in Luke 8:50: Only Believe!

Matthew 10:1 And he called to him his twelve disciples and gave them authority over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal every disease and every affliction.

May Our Precious Father guide us into all truth regarding the authority He has given us over all the work of the enemy, by His Spirit!
