Believing and Speaking Connection

The believing and speaking connection is the beginning of our resurrected life in Christ. The doors to our salvation in Yeshua are opened with the belief in our hearts that Yeshua is the Son of Yahweh who raised Him from the dead, AND are sealed with our confession, words spoken, that He is our Master and Lord. Romans 10:9

This combination or connection starts the most amazing and supernatural experience of being born into eternal life and adopted into the family of God our Father. This miracle sets us on a course that will bring us to unspeakable joy, heavenly challenges, a holy inheritance, and a destiny ordained before time by our Creator. As we have said before, as Christians we all share the same destiny as glory ambassadors for Christ.

To fulfill our unique destinies as ambassadors, we cannot discard the believing and speaking connection. We must learn to put this connection into frequent and effective use. Paul talks about this in 2Cor. 4:13 – “since we have the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, I believed and therefore I spoke, we also believe and therefore speak…”

The working of our faith calls for us to speak to make decrees according to what the Holy Spirit has shown us or spoke to us prophetically and confirmed in His written Word. Right now we are standing in faith and praying for all our children by calling our “arrows back into our quiver” which were stolen from us. Ps. 127:4 says “Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, so are the children of one’s youth.”

Every day we are all faced with real challenges to our faith in the Word of Yahweh and His promises and we must gain a true expectancy in seeing the truth of His promises becoming real in our lives. We start with a genuine believing and then begin speaking those promises out. This is why we are called God’s co-laborers in 1 Cor 3:9. We have an important part to play.

So, let’s make sure our words are connecting to our faith, our believing in our Most Holy Yah, His Son Yeshua, through the anointing of His Holy Spirit.

Every Idle Word

Who controls the words that come out of your mouth? Is it the person that just referred to you as an ignorant pile of refuse in the street? Is the person who just told you that they hate you? We control the words coming out of our mouths and Yeshua told us in Matt. 12:36 that we will be held accountable for every idle word we speak.

The word here is idle, not idol, and basically means unproductive or unprofitable. This means spoken words that are not building up or not encouraging or not inspiring. We need to start taking this warning seriously and do something about it.

We have been given the ability or anointing to create good things with our mouths and we dare to spout useless and vulgar words when we get upset or discouraged or in response to some hardship or obstacle?

Let’s look at this from a positive, what-can-I-do perspective and not so much a what I should’t do view. Start finding ways and words that build up the people around you, family, friends, co-workers. Ask the Holy Spirit to show you how these people need to be encouraged or nurtured or comforted.

This will likely take time and effort and commitment to get our mouths reconditioned to “fruitfulness” and staying away from idleness, but ignoring this wisdom from Yeshua will greatly hinder our growth as His Glory ambassadors.

In staying with a recent theme, what’s in your mouth?

Therefore Choose Life

This sounds like a pretty easy decision to make when it comes to choosing death or life. Who in their right mind would choose death over life? Yet the Lord wanted to make sure things were very clear that we need to see things from a life or death perspective. He also wanted to make sure that we knew we had a choice. Moses instructed the people to choose life in Deut 31.

So exactly how do we choose life?  The quick and simple answer is that we do it with our minds – we make a decision. That is absolutely true, but it doesn’t stop there. In fact we have only just begun the process of experiencing life and blessing when we make a decision.

The next step is where the men or ladies are separated from the boys and girls. We see this next step in Proverbs 18:21 – “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.” The point here is that we can make a mental decision for life but the real force of the matter is how we speak.

The biggest lie we have ever heard is that sticks and stones can break some bones but words can’t cause any hurt. Lie, lie, lie. We can decide to help someone or take the time to teach someone, but if our words are harsh, cutting, or over-critical of this person, we have just undermined with dynamite what we originally set out to do.

This also applies to the words we speak over ourselves. We choose life or death with the words we speak over our dreams, our performances, our motivations, our health, our relationships, our emotions, and our destinies. We are missing out on a huge tool or key to our successes if we fail to realize this.

We cannot over-emphasize the importance of our words when it comes to enjoying success and being able to advance in the things the Lord has called us to and in or marriages, our children, and our lives.

Please do not pass over this encouragement given in Proverbs, for your words will indeed indicate the type of “fruit” you will be eating, fresh and tasty, or rotten and bitter.

What’s In Your Stomach?

My wife and I just finished enjoying some fresh figs and they were amazing. It had been years since enjoying these tasty jewels and were not not disappointed. Food is for our enjoyment but we have thrown caution tot he wind in our food choices. This leads us to ask, “What’s in your stomach?”

It makes a huge deal what we are consuming in our over-all health, our energy levels, and in our susceptibility to illnesses. We do strongly believe that the Lord has provided us with the gift of wholeness and health, but we should be cooperating with Him by taking a look at our food selections.

We live in an age where processed and artificial foods reign and you may even get some raised eyebrows and jokes about eating organic foods or eating spring mix. We excitedly suggest that some thought needs to be put towards the quality of food products in our homes and consequently in our stomachs.

Your bodies’ cells regenerate at different rates but they pull the nutrients from what you digest to make new cells. Your skin completely regenerates itself approximately every month. Your blood cells get renewed every 4 months. Some studies say that your body generates a new complete system every 7- 10 years. There are some cells that stay with us most of our lives like our brain cells and heart cells.

The point is that the decisions we make daily of what we eat will have an impact on the quality of our lives, for better or for worse. There is so much for us to accomplish in this life for the Lord and we don’t want to be laid out fighting off illnesses when we can be getting more amazing things done for the kingdom.

Next time that twinkie comes calling your name, stop for a moment and think about those poor cells that had little to work with when the time came for them to be replaced. All joking aside, everyone can easily add a fruit here and a carrot there and a leafy green here and an apple there.

Faith vs. Worry

Is there any situation whereby it is good or necessary for Christians to get worried? Hmmmm. What did Yeshua tell His disciples when they were being tossed about and swamped in the boat? He asked them why did they have no faith.

Here was a situation that inspired worry which was actually fear in the disciples and was understandable. If we have any worry (fear) whatsoever about a situation, we actually are getting a warning flag that we are not in faith.

We must be radical about not allowing worry in our lives. It is quite understandable that non-believers would be overwhelmed with worry, but there is no excuse for us to give into the destructive influences of worry.

We believe that worry is a pattern of behavior and can even be a familial spirit that gets passed on from our families. It is very common in our culture and we can even get a lot of ridicule from family members when we refuse to give into worry.

When we give in to fear, we have become like the soil with thorns which chokes the Word (Yeshua) in our lives and stops fruit from being produced. This must not be allowed if we are to be effective Glory Ambassadors for Christ. There are no other options.

We must be sensitive to the presence of any worry that has crept into our minds and hearts. When we detect it, it is time to remember and act upon 1 Peter 5:7 by casting our cares (throwing off with great force) on Christ and Phil.4:6 by giving thanks as we make our requests known to Him.

Folks, this is not optional. We are commanded repeatedly in Scripture not to fear and we can no longer ignore this.

Let My People Go

This was the unrelenting cry from Moses’ lips to pharoah in the book of Exodus: “Let my people go, that may serve Me, hold a feast to Me!” Plague after plague was released upon the land and the people of Egypt. Each plague was representing a false god that the Egyptians worshiped and served.

Some of you might remember Charleston Heston in the 10 Commandments or even the amazing animated version of this in the Prince of Egypt.

We hear the same cry going up into the heavenlies on behalf of the church.  What are we serving or holding a feast to instead of our  Savior Yeshua, instead of our Creator Yahweh? Is the core of our hearts to love the Lord with all we have and serve Him without wavering?

We are living in a society that is constantly trying to pull us into some type of bondage. We can’t pretend this isn’t happening. It surrounds us on the internet. We see evidence of this everyday in the news, on the big 100 inch flat screen TV’s in our living rooms, in our city halls and state capitols.

Passover is a celebration that God instituted not just for the deliverance of the Jewish people back in the Old Testament. It is a invitation to us now to celebrate His Son, the Passover Lamb, as our Mighty deliverer.

We all need to be delivered from something that is pulling us away from our destiny in Christ. Please take the time during this Passover season to ask the Holy Spirit to reveal those things that we have allowed to hinder our walk with the Lord. Ask Him for the humility to hear His correction, to repent, and to ask for true deliverance.

He is more than capable and willing and ready to do this as we ask.

Passover – The Plunder of Worldly Wealth

The Lord had told Moses what would happen in Exodus 3:21-22 as the people were leaving Egypt and that the Egyptians would be plundered. So Moses told the Israelites to ask their neighbors for articles of silver and gold and clothing.  The Egyptians did so because the Lord had given His people favor in their sight.

This sounds like  a very unusual occurrence as we take a close look at the celebration of Passover. Scripture says that this happened because the Lord gave them favor, not because they were such good people. The Lord did not want them leaving Egypt empty-handed, feeling like poor, neglected children. This event was very significant to the Lord because He was starting the process of bringing His people to their place of Promise.

What does this event in history history almost 3400 years ago have to do with us as Christians today? It has to do with the favor of the Lord upon our lives and us fulfilling our mission as Ambassadors for Christ and walking into our promised land.

Their is so much working against us in our culture and quite frankly, we believe that without the favor of the Lord upon our lives, we will not be very successful or fruitful as agents of change in this world.

We are here to propose to you that Yahweh wants His children to be favored when it comes to wealth so that we are using our resources for His Kingdom work. If we are regularly tied up with finding provision to take care of ourselves (housing, food, transportation, etc.), then we are being pulled away for our true calling too often.

We will conclude with a simple question? As Christians, are we to be walking in our Heavenly Father’s favor and gaining supernatural access to wealth that will allow us to fund and participate in His Kingdom work in greater and greater ways?

What Is Faith?

A major topic of the New Testament is faith and there is much confusion about it in the church today. As mentioned previously, we like to look at faith as being the currency of the kingdom of God, whereby meaningful transactions are able to take place.

Is that a horrible thing to say? How do goods and services get transferred here on earth? The answer is money. How does anything get done in  Yahweh’s Kingdom? According to Jesus, the answer is faith.  He said “your faith has made you whole” and “whatever things you ask for, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.” What will He be looking for when He returns to earth?

Faith is an all-confident expectation for something that the Lord has shown you or spoken to you from His Word. Faith is the realization that there is a higher Kingdom authority operating above what the world is telling us or what we happen to be experiencing. Faith is choosing to see things with Yeshua’s eyes and not our own eyes.

Faith is the creative power that we are to operate from in order to see things change according to God’s will. We all operate from faith in something – that is how Yahweh made us. When we are placing our faith in things other than the Lord, we are moving into dangerous territory.

We choose  what we are going to believe in, and we see that so clearly in the decision Thomas made in John 20:25. Thomas made this choice based on what he was able to see, or in this case what he had not yet seen.

We can’t let our human eyes dictate to us what we will or what we won’t believe. We must move beyond what our past experiences have shown us or what we have been taught contrary to the Word of God.

Time to step into the mighty realm of faith whereby we confident expect nothing but God’s promises for our lives to come to pass.

What’s In Your Kingdom Wallet?

Our declaration of faith in Jesus Christ our Savior is what has given us access into the Kingdom of God as His adopted children. As citizens of His Kingdom, we need to know how to operate successfully here since we are no longer of this world. Like any responsible citizen, we should have a wallet. Huh?

Our number 1 motivation to get full of faith for God’s Word is to please Him as we have already addressed. BUT, there is another huge motivation for us: the currency of God’s Kingdom is faith. Without faith in His Word and promises, we won’t be able to bear fruit or stand in victory over the forces of darkness or fully enjoy the abundant life that Yeshua came to give us.

When we expressed our faith in Christ, His blood cleansed us of all unrighteousness, and we became “just” or right in God’s eyes. So how are we to live in God’s Kingdom? The just shall live by faith as we are told in Hab 2:4, and again in Rm 1:17  and again in Gal 3:11. We are to live day-to-day by faith.

Wow, this is so important. Let this sink in. Next time you pull out your wallet or purse, think about your faith level. Faith is how we are to accomplish everything we do in God’s Kingdom. So, what’s in your wallet?

Devotional Shevat 30, 5780 – Yeshua, His Given Name

Yeshua also stated as Yehoshua, was taken from the Hebrew “yasha” meaning deliver, rescue, save; and was found repeatedly in the Hebrew Bible. This was also, Christ’s given name at birth and the one He was called by throughout His life. Greek, Hebrew, and Aramaic knew Yeshua meant deliverer.

This name could have been a reminder every time it was spoken, our deliver has come and delivered us out of the hand of the enemy! However, the Roman Council of Nicia change His name into Jesus.

am not saying we must never use the name Jesus, but Yeshua was His given name. I do not know about you; yet even though I am an extremely flexible person, I hate when someone spells my name wrong or calls me by some other name.

There is so much meaning to His name and to the meaning of salvation itself. Yeshua truly conquered all on the cross. He brought us complete salvation: forgiveness of sins, healing, deliverance, cure for every disease, recovery, preservation, restoration, wholeness, shalom, and so much more! As Scripture points out, “there is no other name under Heaven that has been given among people by which we must be saved”! Praise the Lord!

Acts 4:12 “And there is salvation (soteria) in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among people by which we must be saved (sozo) [for God has provided the world no alternative for salvation].”

4991. sótéria deliver, save, rescue or safety (physically or morally) — deliver, health, salvation, save, saving

4982. sózóbring…safely (1), cured (1), ensure salvation (1), get (1), get well (2), made…well (6), made well (5), preserved (1), recover (1), restore (1), save (36), saved (50), saves (1), saving

Prepare for Rosh Chodesh beginning at 6:00 or sundown for the Hebrew month of Adar. The feast of Esther is celebrated this month, giving us much insight into its meaning. Reading Esther and celebrating the feast of Purim are excellent ways to be aligned this month as you find Your identity in Him and move into by doing what is required like Esther.
