Do the Jewish feasts contain spiritual truths that have the ability to change you and your family?
Our family has lived as Christians for many years and I have always searched for ways to draw closer to the Lord. It made sense to me that believers in Christ should be having a whole lot more joy and excitement in their lives.
And I became tired of seeing so many people beat up and discouraged all the time.
I even tried to help a close Christian friend go through a painful divorce.
My goodness – if we have given our lives to follow the victorious Christ, then we should be dealing with obstacles and challenges and winning!
Am I making sense here? So I figured that something big must be missing.
I wondered: What can we do to walk in the abundance life that He provided for us?
Now I realize that the answer to this question covers a lot of territory.
If you have had the same question, don’t be discouraged. Our family has discovered one big part of the answer. And that is God’s appointed times of feasting found in the Bible – the Jewish feasts.
Did you know there has been an open invitation to the people of God for the past 3500 years to participate in the Jewish feast days? Well, we decided that we were not going to miss one more party that God was throwing.
So, we looked up a Jewish feasts calendar. The first feast that we celebrated was Passover. Our Easter celebration has its roots in this feast. The Last Supper was really Jesus celebrating the Passover. Did you know that the early Christian church observed the Passover until the emperor Constantine outlawed it in 325 AD?
This feast releases God’s grace for 2 things:
1) repentance and then redemption from a life of sin and darkness, and
2) moving into our true destiny.
We then celebrated the summer harvest feast of Weeks or Pentecost. This time of feasting was confirmed again as the disciples received the power of the Holy Spirit as seen in Acts 2. We need the anointing of the Holy Spirit to live the victorious and abundant life.
And the 3rd annual feast is actually a combination of 3 events. It begins with the Feast of Trumpets, announcing the new year. Then comes the Day of Atonement which we recall our need for our Savior. It concludes wit the Feast of Tabernacles. Here we celebrate the fact that God has made His dwelling place in us. Is this not Good News?
As we entered into these times of celebration as a family, we noticed a new joy was rising up in us. That is rare these days and much needed.
We also noticed a new sense of togetherness forming in our family like never before!
You and your family can begin this same fantastic journey through celebrating the Jewish feasts. We invite you and your family to learn more about God’s BIBLICAL FEASTS and watch the doors of God’s blessing open before you.
