You Were Masterfully Destined For Greatness To Impact Your World

Did you know that you were masterfully destined for greatness? Yes, this is completely true! Your presence here is not an accident.

You were not formed by a random collision of atoms that resulted in your creation. You were not derived from a simple life form that the Theory of Evolution proposes. You were very deliberately created by the Maker of the universe.

Listen to these words written in Psalm 139:13, “You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb.” In fact, you were created to be like God! Have you ever thought of yourself as being God-like?

You are destined for greatness. That greatness can only truly be realized through salvation in Jesus Christ because we became a “new creation”, no longer held bound by the chains of our selfish nature or the schemes of our enemy. 2Cor 5:17

Equipped and Destined For Greatness

The amazing thing is your Architect provided everything you will need to fulfill your destiny, including dealing with those who are against your destiny. Just read in Deuteronomy 28:7 “The LORD will cause your enemies who rise against you to be defeated before you. They shall come out against you one way and flee before you seven ways.”

Jesus transferred this authority to His disciples when He gave them the ability to deal with “all the power of the enemy…” Luke 10:19. I don’t think He left anything out! God supplied everything to bring you into your place of greatness.

As you ponder this amazing truth, please keep in mind the following critical point. You are the only one who can keep yourself from fulfilling your designated end! To enter into this place of greatness, you have one thing to do. It is your commission, and it is absolutely required.

Destined For Greatness Key

You must exercise your faith in the truth that all things are possible with God. You must trust this amazing One who loved you enough to make you perfect by sacrificing His Only Begotten Son. Through Him you can accomplish great things.

You are the only living soul that can change the fact that you were destined for greatness in Christ. Nothing that has happened to you in the past can stop you. Nothing that anyone did to you or will do to you, can get in your way. No one can destroy the great things you were designed for.

The requirement is pretty simple. The problem is we usually end up making things as complicated as possible. It is God’s way, however, to make everything so simple for us.

He tells us in Hebrews 11:6 “But without faith it is impossible to please him; for he that comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.”

Is it really difficult to have faith in someone who has done so very much for us already?By faith, know that you were destined for greatness by God. Enter into your place of greatness by faith. Fulfill your destiny and do what you were designed to do.

You are extremely important to the rest of us. As we each do our part, what a beautiful and majestic tapestry will be created. Don’t believe the lies that get thrown at you and remember that you are a new creation in Christ.

Does Scripture About Judging Tell Us Not To Correct Others?

Filed under: Charleen's Kitchen of Life — admin @ 5:57 pm

Scripture About Judging Confusion

When we look at Scripture about judging, it is vital that we don’t get confused between judging and correcting our brothers or sisters. There is a big difference between the Scriptures on judging and the Scriptures about correction. Scripture About Judging

I think this has been a huge area that the Body of Christ has gotten confused about. The following Scripture on judging,”Judge not lest you be judged”, refers to being careful not to condemn a person for a particular behavior or their motivation.

It does not mean that we don’t have a duty to correct in love when we see someone acting in an unloving way. Do we have the responsibility of correcting others?

I would like to suggest that I would be doing my brother or sister a favor by offering a correction. Is the following a Scripture about judging?

Galatians 6:1 says, “Brothers, if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness. Keep watch on yourself, lest you too be tempted.” Judging or correcting?

I love the advice given in this scripture, “in a spirit of gentleness”. Let’s remember this important key.

Correcting others can be a very tricky thing. It is, however, a very important skill to be learned and a necessary tool for the Body of Christ. I believe this is just about the single most epic failure of the church.

This touchy-feely, can’t-hurt-anyone’s-feelings attitude in the church is corrupting us all.  If the church can’t correct, who can? We need someone to help us see things we aren’t seeing!

I realize, receiving correction can be a bit hard at times.  We all think we are right 99% of the time. The truth is we are so in need of loving correction. Can we learn to accept correction?  Can we learn to correct in love?

Is the following Scripture about judging or correcting? 2 Timothy 4:2 says, “Preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching.”

Again, we find this charge to correct, but as in the earlier scripture, we are admonished to do it in patience, which is a requirement of love.

As a parent of 13 children, my children talk about their amazement at my level of patience. I feel I have failed in this area repeatedly.

I am thankful, though, when the Lord, my husband, or even one of my children let me know when I have failed to correct with kindness or patience.

Proverbs 31:26 says,”When she speaks, her words are wise, and she gives instructions with kindness”. This is my prayer.  I believe we can learn to correct this way.

Correcting someone is really loving them. When we do correct, let’s keep the attitude which we see in 2 Thessalonians 3:15 – “Do not regard him as an enemy, but warn him as a brother.” A scripture about judging others?

Warning produces the fear of God, which is the beginning of wisdom. Warning can keep someone from hell, death, disease, or living a sinful life.

This next one looks like a Scripture about judging at first. In 1 Timothy 5:20 we’re told, “As for those who persist in sin, rebuke them in the presence of all, so that the rest may stand in fear.”

This is for the Believer who is resisting correction given in private. Talk about being “congregationally” incorrect.

We must stand up for beliefs that we know are against the Word of God. As the Body of Christ, it is our responsibility to speak up and bring correction when needed.

What would this world be like if Yeshua, Jesus Christ would not have said all that was needed at His appointed time? Let’s change our thinking about giving and receiving correction.

First, ask the Lord for His wisdom, and ask Him to correct you! Proverbs 15:22 says, “If you reject discipline, you only harm yourself; but if you listen to correction, you grow in understanding.”

Secondly, find someone in your life who is bold enough to correct you, not candy coat everything you do. Give them license to speak into your life. Receive their correction.

Thirdly, be bold enough to correct others in love.  I need it, you need it, and we all need it. Don’t let fear of hurting someone’s pride keep them ignorant of sin.

In closing, please pray for all of us in the Body to take up the responsibility of correcting one another.

Does Scripture On Discipline Say We Should Receive It With Open Arms?

Scripture On Discipline Is A Friend

By looking at Scripture on discipline, it is clear that Godly correction should be treated like a best friend. In other words, we must love correction! Scripture On Discipline

Scripture tells us in 2 Timothy 3:16, “All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right.”

This scripture on discipline clearly shows that correction helps us see where we are wrong, and guides us to the right path. Don’t we all want to know where we are missing it, and find out how to get it right?  I certainly do!

Since all Scripture is useful to teach us,  our next step would be to look for other Scriptures about discipline.  In Proverbs 12:1, we are told, “To learn, you must love discipline; it is stupid to hate correction.”

In Psalm 139:24, which I pray every day, it says, “Point out anything in me that offends you, and lead me along the path of everlasting life.” Who of us wants to miss the path of life? It would be tragic to live our lives on the path of “neverlasting” life!

Because of this particular Scripture on discipline, I believe we must learn to love correction. It should be a dreadful thing for us to try and avoid correction that is needed. Everyone can benefit from Godly correction.

I have had times in my life when I was completely ignorant of situations or flaws within myself, and it was such a blessing to be made aware of those logs in my eye.

Scripture On Discipline Examples

Let me give you two personal examples of how these Scriptures on discipline allowed me to receive correction:

Example 1: As a younger church going woman, I usually dressed quite provocatively. I never thought I was dressing inappropriately, nor did anyone tell me about it in my circle of family,  friends or church.

The Lord used my boss, to shake me up, and open my eyes to the truth. She eventually wrote a whole dress code for the hospital where I worked based on the way I dressed!

Did the Lord have to use something that blatant to wake me up?  Absolutely. Though it humbled me, I am extremely thankful He did. Wouldn’t this have been a situation that called for a bit of church discipline?

Example 2:  I was at a leadership convention for a ministry I was involved in.  They were talking about a subject I thought should not be an issue for people in  leadership.  They asked for everyone involved in looking at pornography or struggling with cursing to come up.

I was shocked to see so many people going up. I knew I could never do anything like that.  I heard the altar call again, but this time they included anyone sensing they were feeling conviction about anything.

I had no choice now, because I was being convicted of my pride. I realized that everyone in that room could easily assume I was doing those other things. My pride felt so ugly and I knew it was a more grievous sin to the Lord.

This last example is the greatest and easiest way to receive correction, and has helped me love correction like a best friend. By praying these Scriptures for discipline above, it becomes easier to let your Heavenly Father correct you through His Spirit within you.

My Scriptures On Discipline Results

I have been able to see my lack of love, my little faith, my wrong conversations, my big-headed pride, my lack of compassion, and on and on.

A final look at a Scripture on discipline, found in Hebrews 12:6, gives us more reason to receive Godly correction with open arms. It says, “For the Lord disciplines those He loves, and He corrects those He accepts as His child.”

My Daddy corrects me because He loves me.  This is better than life! I want to look for His correction around every corner.

I am praying you will love correction too, and learn to live on the path of everlasting life!

Charleen

Now that you have been corrected by SCRIPTURE ON DISCIPLINE, it is time to celebrate with the Lord in the most awesome ways at this link above.

What Is Betrayal and Can You Overcome Its Painful Effects?

What Is Betrayal?

It is sad that everybody knows the answer to what is betrayal from personal experience. We all know the gut-wrenching feelings related to that close trusted friend or family member who failed us, lied about us, or abandoned us when we needed them the most. What Is Betrayal

The real question is can we overcome the emotional trauma of betrayal? For many people, the answer is no. They end up living in constant mistrust with
fear ruling their lives from the moment of betrayal until an early death.

For many others, dealing with betrayals and their painful effects can be overcome.

We all remember Judas’ betrayal of Jesus found in Luke 22:48 when He asks Judas, “would you betray the Son of Man with a kiss?” Judas is surely remembered as the betrayer of all betrayers.  The common question we have  is how could he do this to the One who loved him so much?

We know how wrong Judas was, and how he had no grounds for his betrayal. Yet, when WE are betrayed, we spend exorbitant amounts of time, trying to figure out what we did wrong.

We wonder what horrible character trait we must have that made someone do this to us.  While self analysis can be helpful, should we really be looking elsewhere? Does anyone really earn betrayal because of an imperfection?

What Is Betrayal To Me?

What is betrayal to many? I believe most betrayal comes from an unwillingness to communicate truthfully.

As a result, much betrayal comes from trying to get your way in a situation by manipulating behind the scenes, rather than deal with the conversation, conflict, or confrontation.

It seems that even negative or abusive communication would be more palatable to accept, rather then back-stabbing betrayal.

What is betrayal? Interestingly, the Greek word betray is paradidómi, which means to hand over, to give or deliver over, to betray. It can mean to bring forth,
cast out, or put in prison.

From this definition of betrayal, we find that it could mean that we are delivered over to our enemy. Most of the time, this is exactly how it feels.

Betrayal can come in many forms, but true betrayal can only come from someone who is close to us. It is associated with someone we love deeply, and have developed what we thought was a strong trust and faith in.

What Is Betrayal Answer?

I believe we can overcome betrayal, and learn to trust again. How is this possible?

The answer is Jesus Christ, who is the foundation to every answer in life. I like using His Hebrew name, Yeshua. Simply put your trust in Him and in His love for you.

Can Yeshua take betrayals and work them for your good?  Of course He can. Doesn’t Christ deserve our complete trust? Hasn’t He already healed our bodies and our minds as it is written in Psalm 103?

Didn’t He bear our pains and our sorrows spoken of in Isaiah 53? He took all of it on the cross so we wouldn’t have to continue to bear these hurts.

Exercise your faith in His healing grace and let your faith in Jesus overcome the betrayals you’ve had to face.

Is it really that simple?  Try it now.

I have, and the sting of betrayal has been eliminated completely from my heart. You too, can overcome betrayal!

A Mother’s Love Can Be The Most Outrageous Thing in the World

A Mother’s Love

What can a mother’s love achieve? I believe there is some valuable wisdom we can gain from a mother’s outrageous love as illustrated in II Samuel 21. Mother's Love

King David asked the Lord why the nation was experiencing a famine. His answer had to do with Saul killing the Gibeonites, even though Israel had made a covenant not to harm them.

In order to make payment for this wrong, David asked the Gibeonites what he could for them. They requested 7 male descendents of the man who tried to wipe them out so they could be killed.

King David handed them over to the Gibeonites, who executed them on the mountain. Their bodies were left exposed to the elements which included hungry birds and animals.

Rizpah, who was a daughter of the family of these  seven dead men, did an incredibly outrageous thing. She took her cloak and stretched it out for herself on the hard rock for the entire harvest time until it rained on the dead bodies.

She made sure that no birds or wild animals would be able to come near the bodies during the night. A mother’s love.

Upon hearing what Rizpah had done, King David was spurred on to retrieve the bones of Saul and of his son Jonathan. Their bones had been stolen from the public area where the Philistines had placed them the day Saul and Jonathan were killed.

Once David had recovered the bones of Saul and Jonathan, he ordered his men to bring the bones of the seven men who had been executed. They gave a proper
burial of the bones of Saul and his son Jonathan in the tomb of Kish, Saul’s father. After all this, God heard and answered the prayers of the people for the land.

A Mother’s Love Moves Kings

This example of a mother’s love not only protected her sons’ bodies from attack, but also moved the the heart of a King to take the needed steps for restoration to the nation.

Rizpah probably counted the cost before her vigil, knowing full well what she would have to endure. She knew she would likely be facing a six month wait
with scorching heat and drought.

If the bodies were left alone, birds and beasts would consume them. Vultures  jackals, and crows each seeking its spoil. Rizpah would have to deny herself, and fight with all within her. She would need outrageous strength, only motivated by a mother’s love.

What is a mother’s love – a mother’s heart for her children who are alive? To see their destinies fulfilled.

A Mother’s Love Can Turn The Tide

So what can we gain from this amazing testimony of a mother’s love?  We can recognize that an outrageous love makes us the best warriors for our children. We will do whatever is necessary to keep the world and the enemy from our children.

We can act in faith knowing the Lord will keep what we have committed to Him, and that every promise in His Word is our weapon in the war. In places where we feel we missed it, or believe it is too late, we can recover our loses by doing whatever is necessary, even outrageous things.

We can find a way of hope no matter how helpless we feel or how bad things look!

Who knows, if we do these things, we may be surprised of the consequences. A neighbor, the mayor, the governor, or maybe even a king takes notice of our outrageous love, causing nations to change!

Living a Life of Purity Is a Quest Worth Pursuing

As we continue on this quest to a life of purity, the following scripture from Proverbs 4:4-6 confirms we are on the right path. A pure heart is reachable through laying hold of the wisdom hidden in God’s Word.

It states,”He taught me and said to me: Let your heart hold fast my words; keep my commandments and live. Get skillful and Godly Wisdom, get understanding; do not forget and do not turn back from the words of my mouth.Forsake not Wisdom and she will keep, defend, and protect you; love her, and she will guard you.”

Living a life of purity is  possible, as our hearts are flooded with the wisdom of God’s Word.

As we get to the heart of the matter regarding living a life of purity, it is pretty obvious that we must let His Word dictate what we do. Use this Godly wisdom daily in order to guard your hearts.

Our hearts are constantly being bombarded with the corrupt things of this world. They come especially through the onslaught of greed, lust, and immorality through a variety of media sources.

The statistics would seem to say that it is impossible to live a life of purity, to obtain a pure heart. Let’s take a quick look at some of them.

Pornography

In 2003,there were an estimated 1.3 million pornographic websites with 260 million pages. In just 3 years that number jumped to 4.2 million sites and
420 million pornographic pages.

At a 2003 meeting of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, two thirds of the 350 divorce lawyers who attended said the internet played a significant role in the divorces in the past year. They blamed the excessive interest in online porn to more than half of their cases. (Divorcewizards.com)

From a 1996 Promise Keepers survey at one of their stadium events, it was revealed that over 50% of the men in attendance were involved with pornography within one week of attending the event.

Media

In an opinion poll conducted for TV Guide (8/2/03), 57% of TV viewers said they “noticed an increase in offensive material on television lately.”

In a national opinion poll conducted for Common Sense Media, 64% of parents with at least one child between the ages of 2 and 17 believed media
products in general were inappropriate for their families.” (NY Times, 5/21/03)

In a national survey by Public Agenda, “about 90% [of parents] say TV programs are getting worse every year because of bad language and adult
themes in shows that air from 8 to 10 p.m. (USA TODAY, 10/30/02)

Over 1000 studies – including a Surgeon General’s special report in 1972 and a National Institute of Mental Health report 10 years later – attest to a
causal connection between media violence and aggressive behavior in some children.

Studies show that the more “real-life” the violence portrayed, the greater the likelihood that it will be “learned.” (American Academy of Pediatrics
Policy Statement, June 1995)

Though these statistics may look grim, remember that we are gaining wisdom on our quest towards Godly purity.

I have developed a 10 day prayer devotional available at our Family Life Winners blog to help you gain victory in living a life of purity, and maintaining a pure heart.

Let’s pray together: “O God, help me to turn my eyes away from looking at worthless things , and get my focus on You and Your Holy Word. Give me the wisdom I need to live a life of purity – I want to see You!

Charleen Ecuyer

P.S.

Here is a link to the start of the devotional for living a LIFE OF PURITY.

Purity Devotional – Day 1

Filed under: Charleen's Kitchen of Life — admin @ 7:26 pm

Matthew 5:8″Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.”

Remember to read and meditate on the scriptures given each day. It is possible to live a life of purity, gain a pure heart, and see God! The premise for this devotional comes from 1 Peter 2:2, “like newborn babies, long for the pure milk of the word, so that by it you may grow in respect to salvation.”

Day 1:

Read Psalm 24:3-5. “Who shall ascend the hill of the LORD? And who shall stand in his holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not lift up his soul to what is false and does not swear deceitfully. He will receive blessing from the LORD, and righteousness from the God of his salvation.”

Ask the Lord to show you any way you haven’t been pure in heart, or walked in purity.  Repent of your failings.  Receive fully His forgiveness and forgive yourself.

Meditate on 1 Peter 2:2.  Ask the Lord to put in you a desire for the pure milk of His Word.

Day 2:

Read and mediate on this passage from Philippians 1:9-11 “And it is my prayer that your love may abound more and more, with knowledge and all discernment,so that you may approve what is excellent, and so be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.”

Pray this prayer to the Lord for yourself.

Day 3:

Philippians 2:12b”…continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling.”  Most of us would like our salvation to be automatic. Wouldn’t it be great that when we give our hearts to Christ, we immediately become pure–act completely like Jesus, love everyone, do everything beautifully, and walk as supernatural beings?

Though I do believe it is possible to live a life of purity, we have to remember the wisdom in Galatians 5:17.”The sinful nature wants to do evil, which is just the opposite of what the Spirit wants. And the Spirit gives us desires that are the opposite of what the sinful nature desires. These two forces are constantly fighting each other, so you are not free to carry out your good intentions.”

Let’s ask the Lord to show us what in our flesh is warring against our Spirit; ask Him to help us gain victory over our flesh in these areas. Declare this: My flesh must submit to my Spirit!

Here is the link to Day 4.

Bless you,

Charleen

Purity Devotional – Day 4

Filed under: Charleen's Kitchen of Life — admin @ 7:19 pm

Day 4:

1 Corinthians 6:18 “Flee from sexual immorality. Every other sin a person commits is outside the body, but the sexually immoral person sins against his own body.”

Colossians 3:5 “Put to death therefore what is earthly in you: sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry.”

In the Corinthians scripture, we are told to flee, run away from, immorality, while in Colossians we are commanded to put to death these evil desires.

God never gives us a command, unless it will help us.  We can always know His advise is for our good and the good of others. We need to kill these desires.

Idolatry puts self interests for evil things ahead of Him. Once idols are set up in our hearts, we serve this to get what we want, rather than obeying God’s law.

Ask the Lord to show you any idolatry in your life, repent, and tell Him you will have no other gods before Him. Now begin to act on this.  Don’t allow anything to rule you, but Him.

Day 5:

1 Peter 1:6-7 Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations. That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perishes, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honor and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ.

He knows you long to be pure. so exercise your faith today trusting when we ask, we receive. Everything that is not of faith, is sin.

Decide to trust Him with all your heart.  Spend time greatly rejoicing for this time, knowing you will see the end of your faith, you will live a life of purity.

Day 6:

Hebrews 11:11 “Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised.”

Hebrews 11:6  “But without faith it is impossible to please God: for he that comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek him.

If you believe that He is, diligently seek Him, and judge Him faithful.

Day 7:

James 3:6 “And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell.”

Stop agreeing with the enemy that you will never be pure and speak what the your Heavenly Father says about you in His Word, and about what He can do for you.

With men this would be impossible, but with God, all things are possible! I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

Ask the Lord to help you to put a guard about your mouth, that you only speak His truth regarding every situation. Spend time looking for scriptures to make a part of a daily confession.

Day 8:

Pray this Psalm today and know He is faithful to answer.

Psalm 51:6-10

Behold, You desire truth in the inner being; make me therefore to know wisdom in my inmost heart.

Purify me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; wash me, and I shall [in reality] be whiter than snow.

Make me to hear joy and gladness and be satisfied; let the bones which You have broken rejoice.

Hide Your face from my sins and blot out all my guilt and iniquities.

Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right, persevering, and steadfast spirit within me.”

Day 9:

Ever notice, almost everyone thinks they are right, but it is only through the study of His Word and by His Spirit, that we can know the truth.

Proverbs 16:2 “All the ways of a man are pure in his own eyes, but the LORD weighs the spirit.

Let’s pray, Father, where I think I am right, and I am wrong, please show me. I pray when you weigh my spirit, you find it pleasing to you.

Day 10:

We have to remember, we have an extremely long life waiting for us in eternity, and this life on earth is but a breath.Do we really want to forfeit eternity for some worldly temporary lusts?

Let’s read 1 Timothy 4:8:”for while bodily training is of some value, godliness is of value in every way, as it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come.”

Godliness simply means God like.  We must pursue living a Godly life in the midst of a mostly ungodly culture! As we do, we will be happier, more fulfilled, blessed…and greater than this, others will see it is possible.  This world desperately needs to see people living in the world, and  overcoming the world.

Let’s meditate on this scripture from Jude:

But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ;

How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts.

These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit.

But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,

Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.

And of some have compassion, making a difference:

And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.

Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,

To the only wise God our Savior, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.

In closing, God sacrificed His only Son so that we could live a life of purity, unspotted from the world. Jesus modeled exactly how He wants us to live. He supplied our every need. Let’s be an example of those having a pure heart in today’s culture.

We at FamilyLifeWinners ask and encourage you to consider doing this devotional 3 times. It doesn’t take long and it will establish a 3-fold cord that cannot easily be broken.

Bless you,

Charleen

Is It Possible To Have A Pure Heart in Today’s Culture?

Is it possible to have a pure heart with all the easy access to today’s media entertainment that provokes lustful desires? Scriptures like, “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God”from Matthew 5:8, rush at us like the ocean tide.

They give us wide expectant eyes encouraging a belief that we will truly see God Himself. As years go by, however, we begin to recognize the wretchedness of our flesh. This noble quest for a life of purity may start to seem completely unattainable.

What exactly does it mean to have a pure heart?

The New Testament Greek Lexicon tells us the word for purity or pure is “katharos”. This can mean clean, having a physical purity, being purified
by fire, like a vine cleansed by pruning so it is prepared to bear fruit.

This word also means being free from corrupt desire or free from sin and guilt. Related meanings involve being free from that which is false, being genuine, being without blame or innocent, or being unstained with guilt.

To a mere man this may seem like an unachievable state of being. But I have heard before that all things are possible with God.

Endless reports flood us of fall after fall of once moral and ethical men and women who have failed to keep a pure heart. These failures end up bringing great offense to their ministries, to Christianity, and to the name of Christ!

In the past years we have heard of many pastors secretly suffering with pornographic addictions, yet still keeping their positions of leadership.

Infidelity has been the demise of an enormous number of marriages that could have been preserved if having a pure heart was a priority. And today, lying
seems to be perfectly accepted as normal behavior.  Where are those with a pure heart and truthful lips who shall ascend to the hill of the Lord spoken of in   Psalm 24:3-5?

They are rapidly disappearing.

Pure Heart Secret

History has shown us that the one place to find the answers for every struggle to attain purity is God’s Holy Word. As we conclude the first of part of looking at the possibility of having a pure heart in today’s culture, let’s meditate on 1 Peter 2:2. It says,”like newborn babies, long for the pure milk of the word, so that by it you may grow in respect to salvation.”

And Hebrews 5:13 says,”Anyone who lives on milk, being still an infant, is not acquainted with the teaching about righteousness.” The Bible will help shine light on the path to having and keeping a pure heart.

As an interesting note, the Greek word for salvation, “soteria”, refers to what we typically think of as salvation: deliverance, preservation, and safety for our souls. It also can mean being delivered from the pleasure of sin.

If having a pure heart has been a challenge, you have a lot of company. Ask the Lord for forgiveness for your past mistakes, and ask for Him to put a longing in your heart for the pure milk of the Word.

Your path to a pure heart will become clearer and easier to maintain. And Yes, with the Lord’s help, you can have a pure heart.

Motivating Words Are The Fuel Your Children Need

Motivating Words

Speaking motivating words to your children is one of the most powerful ways to raise winners in life. They require the right kind of fuel to help them arrive at the best destination. Motivating Words

The more motivating words that you feed to your kids, the higher they will go and the more they will achieve in life. That is every parent’s desire.

Encouraging words have the power to boost your children past many obstacles that will undoubtedly get in their way.

One of the most common hurdles they will have to face is failure or disappointments. It is vital that our children learn from their mistakes  and develop an attitude of not giving up easily.

With this character trait in place, they will already be ahead of 80% of the crowd. Motivating words will help insure that your children do not become quitters.

Motivating Words and Discipline

It is also important to remember that criticism or correction are a part of life. It isn’t fun to be criticized but our kids must learn to accept it when it is given.

A great way to make correction easier to swallow is through starting and ending with some motivating words when we discipline them. They will become discouraged quickly if we don’t do this.

For example, let’s say your child used your toothbrush to clean your dog’s teeth. You might be a bit upset by this thoughtless behavior.

The best way to respond, however, would be to first praise them for being responsible for ole Spot’s care. You would then instruct them in the proper way to clean his teeth. You could finally wrap it up with saying Spot is very fortunate to have someone wanting to care of him.

You also want to make sure that your daily encouragement is genuine.

For instance, you may want  to go overboard with your 4 year old’s crayon masterpiece. But you wouldn’t do the same thing with your 12 year old.

2 Motivating Words Tips

Here are 2 simple tips that will help you stay consistent with giving encouraging words to your children that we call the Checklist To Blast-Off.

We are making this very easy for you because there are only 2 items on your checklist before lift off. Here’s the first item to ask yourself:

1) Have I made my child feel POSITIVE ABOUT THEMSELVES in my dealings with them today? It is both vital and entirely possible for you to correct your child but use encouraging words.

You will know that you were successful if your child can give you a genuine smile after you are finished. Motivating words added to discipline will work miracles.

2) Did my child give 1 encouraging word to someone else today? If you have done a decent job of encouraging your child during the day, it should be easy for them to copy this same behavior with someone else.

It is important that they are both the receiver and giver of motivating words. Make it a habit of asking them how they did this each day.

Put these 2 tips into use as soon as possible to maximize your efforts as a parent.
