FOLLOWING THE LAW IS NECESSARY

ICE is doing their job. This is their duty as law enforcement. If you interrupt law enforcement you are a criminal. It doesn’t take much wisdom to understand this. A child understands when a policeman says stop to stop. Every leader undermining the work of ICE is exercising criminal behavior, not protesting rights.

Key Penalties and Legal Consequences

  • Texas State Penalty (Class B Misdemeanor): Generally, interference with public duties in Texas carries up to 180 days in county jail and/or a fine of up to $2,000$ 2 comma 000$2,000.
  • Federal Penalties (18 U.S.C. § 111): Assaulting, resisting, or impeding federal officers with physical contact can lead to 8 years in prison. If a deadly weapon is used or bodily injury results, this increases to up to 20 years.
  • Federal Obstruction (18 U.S.C. § 1509/1512): Obstructing court orders can result in up to 1 year in prison, while tampering with witnesses or victims can carry penalties up to 20 years.
  • Actions Considered Interference: This includes physical resistance, verbal disobedience, tampering with evidence, lying to officers, or interfering with an arrest.

Common Misunderstandings and Defenses

  • Verbal vs. Physical: Interference does not have to be physical; verbal disruption can lead to charges.
  • Defenses: In Texas, it is a defense if the disruption was based solely on speech, such as filming or questioning police without physically obstructing them, or if the intent was to warn a driver about a speed trap.
  • Long-Term Impact: Beyond immediate jail or fines, a conviction can impact employment, security clearances, and housing

Protesting is not interfering with law enforcement. Start arresting everyone, including public officials and news media exercising fraud, not their “rights”!
